GM crops - area increases 10% in a year

BBC News reports that  the area of the world's farmland that was used for growing GM crops increased by about 10% last year. The increase in area was greatest in Brazil with area falling in the EU. Virtually all GM strains used were engineered for just two traits, disease resistance and herbicide tolerance.
