Organic food - ongoing comment

The Independent has published an article on organic food production which is worth a read. I think we really need to have a balanced discussion on UK food policy which reflects the actual realities of food production both conventional and organic; intensive and extensive methods of livestock production; and the environmental and economic impact of local and imported foods.

Unless we create a cohesive approach to supplying food that meets varied needs; diverse income levels and personal expectation we will continue with the current range of smoke and mirrors policies and marketing strategies which will ultimately lose consumer trust.
