In the eight weeks that I have now been keeping records this site has been visited by people in over 50 countries! This is a statistic that I find totally staggering, especially as I was unsure as to what goals and objectives I should have for The Human Imprint when I started posting. It also demonstrates the power of the internet and blogging particularly as a communication tool. As with any other personal or life tools whilst some people will embrace the positive benefits others may see ways to use it in a negative way. I have had my own problems with spam blogging over the last month or so, and thank you to The Podcast Sisters for discussing the issues in so much depth in their latest audio show, with lots of positive tips on how you can watch out for the "culprits" homing in on your articles or posts.
Statistics .... We all have performance indicators that we develop to measure our performance on a personal basis or in our working lives, but how do we develop them? Are they based on what our family, friends or work colleagues are doing, achieving or planning to do or what they think we should be doing? Do we measure ourselves against targets that can never be achieved? Think about the work place because this can be the same with organisational goals, objectives and the associated policies and strategies. Who in the organisation is responsible for making sure that there are sufficient resources to achieve those standards, assuming they are the right standards for individuals, teams and the total organisation in the first place? We spend our lives setting guidelines, monitoring them for success and then revisiting the original targets and many times starting again. Does the effort that we expend actually drive the business forward or could we utilise that resource in other areas to greater benefit?
Are we auditing the auditors, who are auditing the auditors, who are auditing the auditors, who are .....
If so, what is this actually delivering to the organisation?
Lousie - thank you for sending in the information for us to discuss! Congratulations on such an achievement, 50 countries...just think of how many lives you have touched with your insight.
